If you are a Windows user and fond of photos and drawing, then you have surely heard of Microsoft Paint, the Windows utility for drawing. The problem is that Paint is very limited in features and doesn't please the average computer user. On the other hand, Pinta is different, offering the user the right tools for the job. This Windows application allows you to create images from scratch, using a variety of drawing tools, or to modify an existing photo, making it perfect.

Before installing the application, you will need to install GTK+, which can be obtained from the program's website. After installing the program, the user will notice that its interface resembles the one of MS Paint, but it's far more complex, offering plenty of features and options. One can create a new image by using the drawing tools presented in the left part of the interface, in a graphical toolbar.

Besides that, users can import their desired photo into the program's interface and draw or paint on it, using a multitude of drawing tools. What's more, imported photos can be corrected and adjusted, for correcting different camera mistakes, but can also have a series of effects applied to them. There are numerous effects to choose from and most of them can also be found in Adobe Photoshop.

A feature that makes Pinta different from other image editors is the possibility of capturing your desktop using the integrated tool. This requires only setting a delay between activating the feature and taking the actual screenshot. After the capturing process is complete, the user will be able to edit the screenshot in any way possible.
